[
]Credit: Javrsmith

WordPress is a great content management system. Originally conceived to be a blogging platform, the application has been greatly enhanced over time. With the latest editions, WordPress can be used to organize virtually any kind of information. Unfortunately, the standard configuration lacks robust tools that might be used to create customer response forms. There is the capability to record visitor comments and an email address but not the data items that could be useful for customer leads. Luckily, WordPress can be extended with plugins, optional program enhancements. One plugin is the excellent tool Formidable Pro. This gives WordPress administrators the robust features necessary to create sophisticated customer response forms.

The Formidable Pro plugin installs in WordPress and adds a new option to the dashboard. Administrators can create new forms immediately. For customer responses, a form might include fields for the customer's name, email address, location and other demographic information. Formidable Pro allows these fields to be validated. For example, the location can be restricted to states depending on the customer's country. This is an excellent way to ensure quality customer contact information. Performing data validation prior to storage is a great idea. Depending on the needs of the customer response form, the administrator can add additional on screen features. Perhaps a choice category is necessary. This can allow the customer to choose whether they want to converse via email or telephone, for example. The customer may be prompted for their web site URL. They might even be asked for a brief description of their problem. Some WordPress administrators allow customers to upload a file on the response form. All of these customer input features are fully supported by Formidable Pro.

There are two versions of Formidable Pro, free and paid. The free version is capable creating customer response forms but it lacks many of the advanced features. It can still prompt for customer details such as name, address, phone, etc. These must be emailed to the WordPress administrator as there is no database display option in the free version. This version also includes the CAPTCHA data validation feature which is an excellent way to reduce spam from input forms.

The paid version of Formidable Pro really brings power to the customer response forms. All customers responses are automatically saved in the WordPress database. These can be retrieved on reports or used in custom programs. After a user submits their information, Formidable Pro can perform sophisticated system actions. For example, a customer can be directed to a confirmation page after they press "OK". Their email address can be added to a site email contact list. The user can be registered on the WordPress site. All of these options, and more, are easily used within the enhanced Formidable Pro dashboard on the paid version.

The full version of the Formidable Pro plugin is available for the low price of $47. When you consider the cost required to hire custom programmers, you'll see that Formidable Pro is a tremendous value. With it, a customer response form can be created in mere minutes, with absolutely no programming at all. A comparable form developed in a custom PHP program would take at least an hour for a skilled developer, and probably much longer than that. Consider the development time involved to match the Formidable Pro options. A PHP program would have to connect to a database that was predefined. The data would have to be accepted from the customer and validated. The database storage process involves more coding. If the custom PHP program displays the data on another page, more custom programming is required. Much more coding is necessary to add customers to mailing lists, create a WordPress user account and respond with messages back to the customer. All of these functions are incredibly easy when customer response forms are built with the paid version of Formidable Pro. At only $47, this tool is a great deal which pays for itself after the first customer form is built.

Credit: JavrsmithOf particular value to many WordPress administrators is the great support that comes with Formidable Pro. The tool is provided by expert developers also also respond to questions that arise. They can often assist with trouble very quickly and there is no charge for support issues. All paid customers receive lifetime support for Formidable Pro and they are eligible to install all program updates for free. In addition, the support team maintains excellent knowledge base, demonstration articles and videos. These resources allow users of the tool to gain a complete understanding of the capabilities necessary to build anything from a simple input field to a robust and sophisticated customer response form.

Finally, WordPress administrators who wish to install a complete lead generation system will find the add-ons for the paid Formidable Pro version to be very helpful. There are several optional extras which can be configured to work with Formidable Pro. An easy to use PayPal expansion is particularly helpful. This add-on allows administrators to designate PayPay as the payment gateway for electronic purchases. It is activated with the dashboard, it works well and is completely free. Another add-on gives email mailing list support. An administrator who establishes a Mailchimp account and list can specify that Formidable Pro use these. Afterwards, those people who submit their data to a customer response form can automatically be added to the Mailchimp list. The feature works per Formidable Pro form so administrators can have people added to lists relevant to the customer. For example, those submitting their email address on a free site can be added to "Free Customer" mailing list. Those who select the premium option can be added to the "Premium Customer" mailing list. The use of these add-ons takes mere minutes after they are installed. They work great and are free for users of the paid Formidable Pro version. Additional add-ons give forms the ability to validate states or cities, auto-register users and more.

Formidable Pro is a great tool that belongs on all WordPress sites. It adds capabilities that are usually accomplished with many hours of complicated custom programming. With it, previously difficult projects, such as the creation of a customer response form, can be implemented in minutes. The paid version, available for $47, represents one of the truly exceptional value for money deals that a WordPress administrator could possibly find.

http://www.infobarrel.com/How_To_Create_A_WordPress_Customer_Response_Form[
] - Comments: 0
Advantages And Disadvantages of Application Software You Didn't Know - 28 Jan 2017 16:19
Tags:
[
]Our computers and mobile devices are all loaded with all kinds of software, and each software has a different purpose to fulfill. It is important to first understand the differences between application software and system software. System software is the programming and the coding that is utilized by the various components in the device to communicate with each other. There are millions of commands and instructions that are transferred from one component to another with every passing second, and the system software enables this flow of communication. Additionally, the person using the device does not directly interact with or use the system software, since it is all happening inside the device itself.

On the other hand, application software is that which is used directly by the user for the sole purpose of completing a certain task. This type of software needs to be installed separately on a device, and it regularly has interfaces that enables communication between the machine and the user, hence giving rise to many different advantages and disadvantages. For instance, consider a program that allows you to work with databases. This is a software that is used for a specific application, so it falls under this category. It is universally assumed that they have many advantages, and you will be hard pressed to find disadvantages for the same because ultimately, the purpose of all these devices is to perform many tasks with their help.

Common Types of Application Software

The different types of application software are used by individual users and business enterprises as well, and they have many benefits of doing so. This includes word processing software, database software, multimedia software, editing software, and many other different kinds as well. All these software are either provided individually, or they are packaged together and sold by business to business sellers. When a whole variety of them are integrated collectively and sold to a business, they can take up the form of enterprise software, educational software, simulation software, information worker software, etc.

Advantages

When you begin to compare, you will find that the pros outweigh the cons very easily. With that in mind, here are some of their most popular and widely accepted benefits. Note that in this scenario, we are speaking of application software that is designed for a specific purpose, to be used either by individuals or by businesses.

Their single biggest advantage is that they meet the exact needs of the user. Since they are designed specifically with one purpose in mind, the user knows that he has to use one specific software to accomplish his task.

The threat of viruses invading custom-made applications is very small, since any business that incorporates it can restrict access and can come up with means to protect their network as well.

Licensed application software gets regular updates from the developer for security reasons. Additionally, the developer also regularly sends personnel to correct any problems that may arise from time to time.

Disadvantages

As is the case with all such matters, there are certain disadvantages of such software as well. Though these are not spoken about very often, nor are they highlighted, the fact is that they do exist and affect certain users. But people have accepted these misgivings and still continue to use such software because their utility and importance is much more profound than their weaknesses.

Developing application software designed to meet specific purposes can prove to be quite costly for developers. This can affect their budget and their revenue flow, especially if too much time is spent developing a software that is not generally acceptable.

Some software that are designed specifically for a certain business, may not be compatible with other general software. This is something that can prove to be a major stumbling block for many corporations.

Developing them is something that takes a lot of time, because it needs constant communication between the developer and the customer. This delays the entire production process, which can prove to be harmful in some cases.

Application software that is used commonly by many people, and then shared online, carries a very real threat of infection by a computer virus or other malicious programs.

So, whether you are buying them off the shelf, or whether you are hiring a developer to build specific software for you, all of these points will seem pertinent to you. Many individuals and businesses have regularly found the need and the requirement for such software, and the fact remains that any computing device will be utterly useless without such software running on it.[
] - Comments: 0

[
]Mobile Application development has grown by leaps and bound in the past few years. As the consumption of Mobiles increases with every passing day, the need for mobile apps is also soaring high. See, earlier, when people understood that a mobile phone is a phone, they did not have too many expectations from it, apart from being able to make call and send text messages.

However, with the advent of Smartphones, the population started becoming increasingly aware of all that they accomplish from a little handset. The growing competition between the top mobile development companies let to the infiltration web application development of better and better technology, each wanting to offer something more, in order to increase their sales. In the midst of this competition, the customer was in a win-win situation. And so more and more customers bought more and more Smartphones that led to more and more technological advancements, and the circle continued.

And the Apps were born

The birth of Mobile application development wasn't really an overnight thing. Since people had a taste of the wide range of things that they could undertake with mobile phones, they started putting it to use in different ways. Mobile application development companies, or simply erstwhile web application development companies, understood the hunger of the customers towards "ease".

This is why; they came up a number of application or simply mobile "softwares" that could facilitate the Smartphone user to carry out various tasks. Despite what initially began only for emailing and gaming, underwent a massive overhaul with a plethora of "types" of applications catering to various spheres of life.

Demand and Supply

Like I mentioned earlier there were a number of apps that started being developed to cater to various spheres of life. What's funny is usually the cycle of demand and supply originates with demand and terminates with supply. However, mobile Apps development is such a field where in the entire chain of events is slightly reversed. They make the product, and then upon realizing what all the product can do, the demand increases.

Some really qualified application developers have stated that according to companies providing mobile app development services believe that unless they have something to offer, how the people will know what they are missing out on! I would have called it a strange notion, yet we all know how successful this strategy has been.

Application Brothers and Sisters (the types)

The various application siblings are:

Business: These apps are used to streamline business processes. They assist in sharing information, uploading/downloading documents, accessing database remotely and passing on memorandums and maintaining inventory. These are of course only examples and there are many more things that business apps assist people with.

Entertainment: These apps enhance or make use of your inbuilt audio/ video systems. There are Photo editing apps and music mixing ones too. You can save the space on your phone by using some of the music streaming apps that don't require you to save the music on your phone for later use.

Gaming: By far the undisputed popularity kings are the gaming apps. There are thousands of gaming apps available. All these apps are custom made for specific target audiences. Gaming apps are also used by business owners to market their products or to increase their brand awareness.

Utility: Utility apps are those that solve some purpose. Flashlights, battery savers, auto lock, and barcode reader are some of the utility based applications that use the in-built features of your phone to provide utility.

Social Network: Social networking through Smartphones is a trend these days. People like to stay connected all the time even on the go. That's why social networking apps have gained so much popularity.

Conclusion

Mobile Application development has created new avenues in the market in terms of career, marketing on utility. This is a field which ensures that whether you are a customer, or a business or even a developer, you are always benefitted.

http://hubpages.com/technology/Mobile-Apps-Winning-the-World[
] - Comments: 0
